Thanks for stopping by Ruth!

I'd thought about the uphill battle, there is a lot of advertising out there that isn't touting the healthy route. I hadn't considered that the grandparents may not be on their team! But now that I've thought about it, it's true! Grandma and Grandpa tend to be the ones saying, "How's about a treat?"

Those sneaky grandparents!

Let me set your heart at ease - I am a mother of 5 kids ages 12 and under, and I agree with you. Cook good (healthy) food in a good (tasty) way (meaning you may have to invest in a decent cookbook and take more than 5 minutes to make a meal) so your kids have a chance to like them. Everyone will have foods they like and foods they don't, but you're not doing your kids any favors by lying to them and teaching them that healthy food is so gross that you have to hide it in junk food. Make healthy food that YOU like to eat, and your kids will be more likely to like it, too.

*But* you have to realize that everyone who comes in contact with your child - Grandma, Grandpa, their friends, the lunch lady, and every cartoon character on TV - is going to be pushing the "junk food tastes better" idea on their impressionable little minds. It's an uphill battle.
